Under the bright lights of the Knights stadium, the stands were filled with cheers, tears and endless pride on Thursday, Oct. 30, as senior athletes from multiple teams and groups were recognized.
One by one, the seniors, representing the heart and soul of the school, walked across the field with their closest supporters by their side. It was a heartfelt tribute to years of dedication and hard work, a moment that captured not just the end of a season, but the end of a chapter.
Senior Knight is always a mix of emotions. It’s a celebration of all the early mornings, late practices, awards, competitions, bus rides, victories, and even the defeats that built lasting friendships and unforgettable experiences.
For the football team, the night also marked a final home-field celebration before heading to the CIF playoffs. Their first playoff game will be at home this Friday, Nov. 7.
For football player and kicker Alex Cervantes, the night was about faith and perseverance. “God I know that if you bring me to it, you will bring me through it. I know I need to have faith, I have to trust you,” Cervantes said, reflecting on his journey.
Dancer Jasmin Deleon Garcia embodied team spirit and unity. Before performing, she and her teammates gathered in a circle, screamed together and then prayed together as a reminder of their bond.
Cheer captain Mariela Ayala looked back with a smile, remembering the moments that mattered. “You don’t remember the stress, you remember the laughs and TikTok phrases they do, like 67, as well as all the memories you have made with them along the way,” she said.
