As students and staff begin the second quarter of school, Dr. Dunn looks back at a fantastic start to the school year.
The traditional events – Back to School Night, sporting events, performances – marked the return to campus for Knights and their families.
When asked about the students’ experiences on campus and in the classrooms, Dr. Dunn’s goal is straightforward.
“I want to make sure that every student who attends Shadow Hills feels safe, learns, and has positive experiences during their high school years,” he explained.
Dr. Dunn doesn’t stop there.
He’s also set his sights on what Shadow Hills students do after they graduate.
“We want to make sure that as our students leave this amazing institution, they are prepared academically,” Dr. Dunn explained.
“We want them to achieve success regardless of what they decide to do.”
In an effort to set Knights up for academic and professional success post-graduation, teachers and administrators are working diligently to increase academic rigor.
It’s not about giving more assignments, or minimizing the time students have to complete their work.
It’s about fostering an interest in learning.
With this emphasis, there’s an expectation that students will rise to the challenge. The payoff?
“Students will be better prepared for the future opportunities that await them,” Dr. Dunn explained.
