As the school year continues, Shadow Hills High School has welcomed a new staff member, Mr. Bose, our new assistant principal.
Mr. Bose filled a position that opened when former assistant principal Dr. Kalkoske retired in June. As is customary, the duties each assistant principal are responsible for were redistributed this year, putting Bose in charge of discipline.
Bose has worked as an assistant principal in many different schools and districts, from Los Angeles to small towns in the woods and mountains of Northern California.
“So I’ve been pretty much everywhere,” Bose explained.
He said that while he has been all over Northern California, friends and family in the desert and the great reputation of Shadow Hills made him decide to make his home here.
However, his new position came with some initial challenges, such as learning the names of all the students and staff and understanding how things work around campus.
“Everything’s new, everything’s different and bigger, but I wouldn’t say it’s difficult,” he stated, noting that he is quickly learning and adjusting to the new systems and programs.
Bose is ready to put in the hard work to be a part of the Shadow Hills family.
“We’re in school, right? To learn,” he said. “It’s okay not to get it right away.”
