Club Rush might be over, but the resulting connections and camaraderie are just beginning. During the annual event, clubs set up tables throughout the quad during lunch, and provide information to students. With 30 to choose from, there are clubs for everyone on campus.
Black Student Union President Victoria Hyatt (‘24) is looking forward to meeting with new members. When asked why she started the club, she said it was equal parts inclusion and cultural awareness.
“We started [the club] to bring awareness about African American culture and have a club for Black kids to be included,” Hyatt explained.
Logan Fendrick (‘25) has been involved in YoungLife for several years. The club brings students together to explore their faith.
He said a lot of people signed up at this year’s Club Rush.
“I would say to give it a shot,” Fendrick said of students who were considering signing up, but hadn’t yet. “It’s a very welcoming group of people and you can make memories you will have forever.”
Ms. Whitley and Mr. Baker are advisors for the Anime Club, a group that’s 50 students strong.
“Anime Club is a great club to join!” said Whitley. “We are an inclusive and safe space.”
